ODMplus is a new Melbourne-based company that sources, verifies and lists vehicle lighting for the Australian market. We are not a manufacturer — we are the consumer's check on the chain that supplies the manufacturer. We provide the facts; you make an informed purchasing decision.
The problem in the lighting aisle
Most "compliant" listings online cover one regime only — usually EMC — and quietly skip the road-illumination certificate that decides whether a light is actually legal to use while driving. Photographs are borrowed, claims are inflated, and the certificate numbers, if any, point at paperwork the seller has never read. The buyer carries the legal risk while the chain carries the margin.
That isn't a niche complaint. Cheap grey-import bars can jam your vehicle's electronics. Uncertified driving beams can dazzle other drivers and earn you a defect notice. The cost lands on the consumer — every time.
What we do differently
- Primary-source verification. Every Tier-A claim we publish has been read by us against the certificate on the issuing authority's public register. Approval number, holder name, covered variants — all checked, line by line, word by word.
- Honest tier labels. Three tiers, three colours, no softened warnings: ✅ road-legal, ⚠ off-road only, ✗ not approved. A ⚠ stays a ⚠ — we will not dress it up to push a sale.
- Consumer-to-Factory (C2F). You tell us what you want — the spec, the certificate suite, the use case. Group demand builds, the factory sees a real order book, the product gets made to that demand. No more taking what's offered.
- Group pricing. The bigger the wave, the lower the price. When the perfect storm arrives, the price gets smashed — by aggregating consumer demand, not by squeezing a worse product.
- No one is exempt. If a supplier of ours fails the standard, we publish it — even when it's our own. Trust is the product.
Why this matters to you
When the certificate behind a light is real and matches what the seller says, you can drive with it without a defect notice. Your warranty sticks. Your vehicle's electronics don't get jammed by an uncertified bar. You pay a price the wave decided, not the importer's mark-up. And the product you buy was actually shaped by people like you — not chosen for you by an engineer in a factory you've never heard of.
