THE LOUDER THE SHOUT, THE LOWER THE PRICE

Compliance โ€” what each label means

Two regimes. Three tiers. Plain English, then the legal version.

Vehicle lighting is governed by two separate compliance regimes. Most "compliant" listings cover only one. We verify both โ€” and label every product honestly.

The two regimes

Regime 1 โ€” Legal to SELL

Plain English: proves the product won't jam your vehicle's electronics, radio or CAN bus. Says nothing about whether you can drive with it on a public road.

Regime 2 โ€” Legal to USE on-road

Plain English: proves the beam shape, intensity and dazzle limits are safe for other road users. Without this, the light is off-road only โ€” no matter what the listing says.

Being legal to sell is not the same as being legal to use on a public road. We verify both, certificate by certificate.

The three tiers

โœ… Road-Legal Driving Light

Plain English

Verified for use while you're driving on Australian public roads. Installation rules still apply.

Legal-format statement

โš  Off-Road / Work Light Only

Plain English

EMC-certified โ€” safe for your vehicle's electronics โ€” but no road photometric approval. Must be switched off when driving on public roads.

Legal-format statement

โœ— Not Approved for Road Use

Plain English

Road approval is not achievable for this configuration. Off-road or private property only.

This page summarises the regulatory regimes that govern our product labels. It is not legal advice. The relevant Australian road-rules regulation in your state or territory is the authoritative source for on-road use; please consult it for your specific vehicle and installation.
